3rd Grade Reading
due 2/10: Finish book and complete a Final Project (choose 1)
Ida B Only:
o Ida imagined herself as a superhero that she described as Superhero Deluxe, Friend of the Downtrodden. She imagined herself with specials powers to turn wrong into right and evil into good. Create your own superhero. Draw a symbol of their superhero and describe what special powers they may have.
Beloved Dearly Only:
o Choose a character and write a persuasive letter asking your boss for a raise.
o Design your own theme for a pet funeral. Plan entire funeral including schedule, program, and any props to enhance your theme.
Either Book:
· Give a sales talk, pretending the students in the class are clerks in a bookstore and you want them to sell this book. Please have a written copy of your sales talk.
· Construct puppets and present a show of one or more interesting parts of the book. Please have a written copy of your script.
·Design costumes for dolls and dress them as characters from the book. Write a paragraph explaining who these characters are and how they fit in the story.
·Write and perform an original song that tells the story of the book
·Make a time line of all the events in the book.
·Write a chapter that takes place after the book has ended. Tell what you think would happen if the book were to continue or a sequel was written.

3rd Grade Reading
due 1/27:Read chapters 13-19 and answer the following question in your notebook. Your answer should be written in paragraph format.
Ida B: Ida B says, "...good plans are the best way to maximize fun, avoid disaster, and, possibly, save the world" (p. 38). Ida B makes a lot of plans throughout the book. What are some of the plans she makes? Do they achieve these ends? Why or why not?
Beloved Dearly: What would you have done if you were Swimming Pool and Ernie did not give you the raise he promised? Do you think that Swimming Pool deserved a raise? Did Ernie make a good business decision? Why or why not?

3rd Grade Math

5th Grade Reading
Work on Scratch Island Map. Our final class period to work on the maps will be 1/28. The assignment is due by 1pm on 2/4. Your map must include 4 animated sprites which provide information about the setting and/or plot of the story. Check your work for spelling and be sure you have graphics that are appropriate and attractive. (Reminder...login is plasch and password is concord).
